Welcome to Golden Triangle

A prime central location highlighted by a dynamic mix of residential, commercial, cultural, and educational amenities, helps make the Golden Triangle one of Denver’s more coveted urban neighborhoods.

Longtime community mainstay, the Civic Center Cultural Complex boasts, within a two-block radius, the Denver Art Museum and its new, futuristic-looking Hamilton wing; the captivating, Michael Graves designed Central Library; historic Byers-Evans House & Museum; Colorado History Museum; the Denver Mint; and Civic Center Park, home to the annual People’s Fair, the Taste of Colorado festival, and other colorful events.

The Golden Triangle’s ongoing renaissance has been marked by stylish conversions of former industrial buildings and garages into upscale offices and studios for law firms, designers, architects, and artists. More than 700 residences have been added in recent years, and there are many more either scheduled to break ground or on the drawing board.

With downtown just a ten minute walk away and the popular Cherry Creek Bike path traversing it’s western edge, a prosperous future for the neighborhood seems assured.

Already more than fifty galleries, fine-art studios, specialty stores, hip restaurants and night spots, coffee houses, and bistros, make their home in the Golden Triangle. Additional attractions include the Colorado Ballet, Ballet Arts Theater, Acoma Center Theater (hosting live theater, film, lectures, and community get-togethers), Curious Theater, United States Mint, Rocky Mountain PBS-Channel Six, and Gart Brothers Sports Castle.

Camera Obscura Gallery, opposite the Byers-Evans House, is one of the finest photographic galleries in the world, while William Havu Gallery, formerly 1/1 (one over one) of LoDo, features an intriguing selection of media and styles from highly regarded regional, national, and international contemporary artists.

At the northwest corner of the Golden Triangle, across the intersection of Colfax and Speer, is the Auraria Higher Education Center - - the University of Colorado at Denver, Metropolitan State College, and Community College of Denver, and Health Science Center, Downtown Campus - - while quality institutions abound within the community itself, among them: P.S. 1 (a new charter school), the Art Institute of Colorado, two day-care centers, and the Taoist Tai Chi Society.

Many new arrivals have chosen to live in the area’s elegant New York style high rises such as the Prado, Belvedere, and Beauvallon. Finished in cast stone and stucco and highlighted with old-world detailing these “neo-historic” residences offer not just luxurious appointments and 21st-century amenities, but spectacular panoramas of downtown and the Front Range mountains. Many also provide 24-hour doorman and concierge service.

First Friday Art Walks (held on the first Friday of every month) provide a great way for newcomers to explore this lively enclave. Participants often hop aboard the free “Art Bus” to tour the galleries, artist’s studios, participating museums, and even neighboring art districts like the flourishing Santa Fe Drive.
